Phishing Phishing is any malicious attempt that fraudsters use in order to steal personal information such as passwords, internet banking credentials, PIN numbers, credit / debit card numbers, passport id etc. Phishers send mass e-mails to random e-mail accounts of unsuspecting recipients, trying to persuade them to choose (to click) a link in the e-mail. This link leads to websites created by the phishers and resemble the actual bank websites, designed to deceive users into typing their personal information.
Trojans Trojan, is a computer virus that can be installed on your computer without realizing it, in order to steal sensitive information and perform unauthorized actions. A Trojan permanently monitors the websites you visit, and if a specific bank is detected it starts to secretly record on a local hard drive anything you type (Username, Passwords etc.). If needed, it can even save snapshots of the page. After the user completes the process, the Trojan automatically sends all data recorded that can afterwards be used directly by the recipient or sold in bulk to third parties. The most common installation techniques of the virus are: Email attachments - scammers trying to trick you into downloading a piece of software or open an attachment that contains the Trojan virus. Websites containing executable content (e.g. a Trojan horse in the form of an ActiveX control). Software download (e.g. games and free software).
