Piraeus Bank's internet sites were the winners in the «Web site information update» and «Web site technology» categories of the BANKeVAL 2004 survey. To be more precise, Piraeus Bank's web sites (www.piraeusbank.gr, www.winbank.gr and winbank internet) were evaluated as «Excellent» in the aforementioned categories (the respective grades were 94.85% êáé 93.06%). As far as the category «Web Site Information Update» is concerned, the evaluation criteria which were taken into account were the update frequency of the information posted on the sites, the presence of the section «Latest News» in distinct position on the web page, the link's functionality and so on. In the category «Website technology», the following among others were considered: the way the data is presented on the web pages when such data is not in text format, the way the page is presented on different display analysis levels, the way meta-data have been set so that they can be traced easily by search engines and finally the way the web code of the page is presented.

 winbank received an important award at the annual European Contest, "The European Banking Technology Awards 2004". winbank was awarded with the Highly Commended prize in the category of Best Online and Multichannel Banking Team. Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance was awarded with the first prize, while Deutsche Bank Global Markets e-commerce was also awarded the Highly Commended prize. This award is yet another international distinction, amongst a large number of prizes that winbank has already won. In the same European Contest «The European Banking Technology awards» of 2001, winbank was also awarded with the Highly Commended (2nd) prize for its electronic banking services as a whole. However, this year's award was based on the innovative banking service winbank alert! Piraeus Bank continues to offer groundbreaking services, constantly attaining its goal to utilize the latest technology and being a pioneer in modern forms of customer service.

 In September 2004 RAM magazine, ranked winbank in the top group of e-banking services. The evaluation was based on 11 criteria such as: Content, Security, User friendliness and Navigation. "Via winbank users can perform quickly and easily their transactions as it provides a variety of services... in a friendly environment."

 Piraeus Bank-winbank came first (82,08%) in the assessment of the websites of FTSE 20 companies, by Yellownetroad. Õellownetroad based its results on five criteria: Information, Advertising and Promotion, Communication, Added Value Services and Ease of use.

 winbank e-banking was awarded the "Editor's Choice" prize of the Greek edition of the well known international magazine PC Magazine, in the special issue on e-banking, in May 2004. The evaluation was based on criteria such: Range of Services offered, User Friendliness, Security, and Technical Support. According to PC Magazine "winbank distinguishes for the comprehensive range of services it offers to each client as well as for the simplicity of using the services". Special reference was made to winbank Alert! service, which gives users the opportunity to be informed real-time, about all their banking transactions. Through winbank alert! service, users can be informed real-time, 24x7 about alterations of their account balances over or below the limits they have set, specific activity of their accounts owing to debits or credits, valuation of their portfolio and verification of stock order execution, via email, sms or phone call from a bank agent.
